Which Public Sector company in India would be the best for an Electrical Engineer among PGCIL, EIL and NTPC?

Please consider Career Growth, scope for higher studies and Job profile.

good question.
I compare this way.

NTPC/EIL/PGCIL- All are at par with each other as far as Salary Structure is concerned.But Allowances vary. But as per givt. guideline they can give the allowance not more than 50% of the basic.

NTPC: If you are in a Power Plant-You will be with mentainance & Operation group. You have to take care of All the electrical equipments installed in the Plant. You will be at powerplant near a small town. You will get township accomm. and all the facilities and study quality.
If you are in Project group-Design/Engineering you have to design the substations, Select / design required Electrical equipments,
If you are in the Project -Inspection you can have the same knowledge of a designer minus design actvities plus Direct Invlovement withe the equipment. You can know inside out of the Equipment where as for designer the equipment will be on a sheet of Paper only.

PGCIL- You will be dealing with power transmission, design of grid, SCADA control Systems( I think ET group do the scada job), Control of power transmission. Lots of project but technical scope is limited.They have project group and transmission group also.

EIL-Engineers India Ltd is a Consultancy company. EIL do not have any own plant/Project. EIL gives consultation and Deals with Refinery/Petrochemicals(ONGC, OIL, BPCL, NRL, CPCL, MRL, BORL, HMPL, HPCL, GAIL, BCPL, IPCL(earlier) and IOCL in India and many Petrolium & Petrochemical Company overseas. and /Non-Ferrous Projects(NALCO/BALCO,HINDALCO HCL, HZL etc). EIL is a poineer in Pipe line Projects.

Basic Idea. EIL Has many groups- Like Projects, Engineering, Construction, Planning,Tendering Purchase, Costing , Inspection, HRD/FA.

All the groups have the best scope to grow.

For Project/Engineering(Design)/Planning/ Inspection have the best scope to grow.

For TECHNICAL Growth. Design and Inspection are the best Dept. The Design and Inspection are same as the Design and Inspection of NTPC . But what is the diffrence between NTPC and EIL design and Planning.

EIL deals with Refinery ( Say)

1 )Refinery has got at least 15 Units of plants one of which equivalent to one whole NTPC plant. so you have to deal with at least 10times more Electrical equipments and varieties are wide for EIL.

Worst part for all above company is:
IF YOU ARE IN CONSTRUCTION: YOUR LIFE IS GONE.
