Can I have a scope or laser mounted to this pump .22 cal rifle?
I own a Rossi .22 cal pump and would like to add a scope or laser to it. The open sites are horrible and cannot be adjusted to get close to making it sighted in. The gun is consistent, it always shoots to the same area, so with a scope or laser it would be a very accurate gun. It is a pump with a top eject, so a scope rail cannot be added. I took it to two gunsmiths and both said a side mounted scope mount cannot be put on this gun for two reasons, side mounts are not made anymore, and the metal on the side of the gun is too thin, and would only allow 1 or 2 threads to be cut in for screws.
Any ideas on a scope or laser mounting system would be so greatly appreciated.

i use to have one and used a crossman 4 piece inter mount ! first i used a cheap daisy laser on the feed tube, but changed it to the barrel with a bsa red dot for nite or pistol scope for day. make sure to clean the mounting surface with rubbing alcohol and use silicone on mounting surface to ensure the hold.
