Why is the speed of the green dot (which is only 1/2 the radius of red point)less than that of the red dot?
red dot speed is 12.5
v = w * r
v = speed (also called linear speed)
w = angular speed
r = radius of the circular path of a dot = the distance of the rod from the center of the path
w is same for both dots. Therefore the formula v = w * r says that if r is less, then v is less.
r for the green dot < r for the red dot
Therefore v of the green dot < v of the red dot
If red dot's speed = 12.5, then green dot's speed = 12.5/2 = 6.25
